Our bookstore works with the Amazon.com affiliate program. We display Amazon products in our store tailored specifically to our users. When someone purchases an item from Amazon through our store, we earn a percentage commission that is spent directly on urban missions in the New York City metro area by the MetroSoul urban mission team.
We're big on providing Jesus-based resources to internet users at no cost, and we want to be careful not to make rUrevolutionary.com into a commercial venture. The cause of Christ has been damaged by too many people who seem to turn the Gospel into a for-profit business. We're not interested in making a killing or exploiting anyone because of their faith. An online store like ours simply provides a way to raise funds for grassroots mission without the high overhead of other fundraising and commercial ventures. Please never feel pressured to shop in our store. But if you do shop for books, music, or electronics online, why not provide some income for an important cause at no extra cost to you?
The MetroSoul mission team uses money raise from this store in several ways. First, we pay for websites that spread the word about radical Jesus-following like this one. While a website is onee of the most affordable forms of communication, it does cost money to host and develop. Much of time, talent, materials and hosting costs are donated to us, but we still have some overhead that profits from the store can cover. Anything over the website cost goes directly into people development at the street-level. MetroSoul's slogan is "urban mission for the masses". We work to develop grassroots local leaders so they can grow local spiritual communities right where they live. The money from this site will never go to highly paid religious professionals or expensive institutions. It will be spent to empower people to grow so they can incarnate Jesus in their home, block, neighborhood and city and live a sane and stable life that blesses those around them.
