Emergent Village board member Brian McLaren joined the Southern Baptist Convention’s Richard Land, the National Association of Evangelicals’ Ted Haggard, Rob Bell, Lauren Winner, and others in issuing a joint statement to President Bush urging him to take immediate action on the genocide in the Darfur region of Sudan.
These Evangelicals for Darfur are “calling for an immediate conference with the President to discuss economic sanctions and the intervention of a United Nations peacekeeping force in the war-torn region.”
