Hope to Humanity | YouTube | 18:45
Last Chrismas(05) Marvin, Yen, Andrew, Mike & Christina went deep into the city of Santa Ana to The Catholic Worker Homeless Shelter to film a documentary on the people who worked there, the kids and their families who lived there. We wanted to see what it was like first hand from these people what being homeless is really like. We got to meet a lot of great and not so great people.
Before we headed to the Shelter. Marvin & Andrew had the great idea to raise money by selling candy bought with their own money to raise a mini-fund to by these kids toys. We collected over $100 worth of candy sales, and we want to thank everyone that bought candy from us.
So now we headed to the orphange.
At first, we thought this would be a cake-walk, we thought the kids would be very appreciative of what we did, by comming, giving them toys, and spending our time with them. However, we found them to very greedy and violent for their age.
Then we realized that "hey, these are just kids, they been homeless for most of their short lives" now we see why they would be greedy and violent. Being on the streets at such a young age is hard, it's really "survial of the fittest" even for these kids.
This only shows how much they really need our help. Help get these kids get off the streets and into homes. Give them Hope. Bring back Hope to Humanity.
Please, After you've watched this, pass this video along to your friends and familes. Help us create awarness for these kids who deserve so much better.
