Kent Smith, Missions Coordinator for North America for Abilene Christian University and a DAWN regional co-ordinator, asked me to join a church planting coaching quad. He will be working with Chadd (my good friend in Mexico), another church planter and myself to help us develop our coaching skills. As part of this group, Kent wanted as to read Leadership Coaching by Tony Stoltzfus. The book is about using coaching in ministry. I’m supposed to have it read by the new year, so I wanted to generate some discussion on it and record my thoughts for a reference. Since coaching is becoming popular, especially in some of the circles of simple church, I felt it important to critique it throughly since it could potentially effect so many people. To do so, I opened a new blog that will be devoted to reviewing the book chapter by chapter: Leadership Coaching Review Blog. For more on Stoltzfus’ book, check out this dicription from Amazon: Book Description Leadership Coaching is an essential tool for anyone who wants to learn to coach or improve their coaching skills.
